Fundraising is the means by which each Lions club is able to have a stronger impact on their community. Whether it is a sausage sizzle at a local shopping centre or a larger and more organised function such as a Golf Day or an Opportunity Shop the ultimate goal is to raise funds necessary to support those in need within our local area.
An organisation like Lions provides individuals wishing to give something back to their community the means by which they can utilize their talents and volunteer to give their fellow man a helping hand up.
At the start of each year the Club determines which projects they will support and sets budgets and outcomes based on both previous history and current circumstances. The club has a number of charities and organisations they support and generally funds will be matched to a specific project.
Each project has a chairman whose role it is to organise, coordinate and call on the resources of the Club to carry the project to its successful conclusion.
Forest Hill Lions Club has a long history of successful fundraising. Look to our history and the memorable moments area on this website to see examples of the expertise within the club and the fun enjoyed by a close knit membership in any project tackled.
Many people and organisations have benefited from the efforts of this small band of volunteers over the years. On the other hand many past and even current members will attest to the personal benefits and experience gained from each other in pursuing common goals.
