Lions members are men and women who volunteer their time to humanitarian causes. Founded in 1917 the volunteer organisation’s motto is “We Serve”. 100% of the funds we raise reach the intended charity or cause.
There are nearly 1.35 million Lions members in 196 countries and geographic areas – tackling tough problems like blindness, drug abuse prevention and diabetes awareness.
They also provide immediate and sustained relief in time of disaster and offer long-term assistance to those in need, within the state, the country, and world-wide.
Our aims are to provide service and support to the less fortunate in the local and wider community, whilst enjoying the fun and fellowship of our own and other club members.
Fellowship… good times…. meeting people…. building lasting friendships… service to the community…. learning new skills…. leadership and personal development – these are just some of the benefits of being a member of the Lions Club, the world’s largest and most active service club organization.
For nearly 90 years, whenever there is a need at home or around the world, Lions members have been there to help.
Lions have been a part of the Australian community since 1947, helping to serve the people without promise or want of reward.
The Lions Club of Forest Hill has been doing what it does best for nearly 40 years – assisting our community since we were first Chartered as a club on 13 September 1969. Current club projects include fundraising for Eastern Palliative Care, the Road Trauma Support Team, Guide Dogs, our Youth Encouragement awards, Macular Degeneration and individual circumstances.
If you are an adult over 18 years of age and would like to see what it’s all about – rest assured that everyone is welcome (male, female, able bodied and not so able bodied).
